B.A. in English & Secondary Education

Mrs. Rachel P. Robinson

This is my third year teaching at McCormick High School and my second year coaching boys and girls cross country. I am teaching 9th and 10th grade English.

I grew up in Clover, S.C. and journeyed to the lowcountry for college. I graduated from College of Charleston in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education. McCormick School District faculty and staff won my heart in an interview at a job fair, so I chose to begin my teaching career here, and I haven’t looked back!

Throughout college I worked in many jobs that exposed me to the social injustices, namely educational disparities, in this country. These jobs continue to inform my work as an educator. My purpose as an educator is to create a classroom with relevant, meaningful learning experiences. I teach because I want to foster a lifelong love of reading in my students as well as help them become empathetic, empowered, and culturally competent. I believe reading is one of the most important life skills anyone can have.
