Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tamera Davenport

After growing up in Florence, SC, I attended College of Charleston for two years before returning home to finish my Bachelor's Degree at Francis Marion University.  Upon my graduation, my family and I relocated upstate to the small city of Due West. This past summer, we moved a short distance down the road to Honea Path.

After a year of substitute teaching in Abbeville County , I was hired to teach 7th grade English Language Arts, and later Math, at McCormick Middle School.  Four years later, I was moved to 5th grade.  After teaching 5th grade for 15 years, I was moved to 4th grade. This year marks my return to 5th grade ELA.

During my third and fourth years teaching, I attained my Master's in Elementary Education from Lander University as well as becoming National Board Certified in Early Adolescents in English  Language Arts.  I recently added Middle Level English Language Arts  as an area of certification, as well as a  Gifted and Talented endorsement.

I am currently in my 23rd year of teaching--all in the McCormick School District.
My husband David and I  celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last summer and I am the proud mother of Alex, who is currently a sophmore at McCormick High School.
