    SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    The Four-Year High School Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. Contact your high school academic advisor or campus Military Science department for more information.  scholarships may be awarded as a Four Year or Three year advanced Designee Scholarship.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Be a U.S. citizen
    • Be between the ages of 17 and 26
    • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50 (2015 average for winners was 3.5+)
    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Score a minimum of 920 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores)(2015 average for winners was 1250/28)
    • Meet physical standards
                 For Males: 42 pushups and 53 sit ups in 2 minutes with a 2 mile run in 15:50 is passing
                 For Females: 19 pushups and 53 sit ups in 2 minutes with a 2 mile run in 18:50 is passing 
    • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard)
     

    Your Committment

    • An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
    • Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
    • Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career

     

    How to Apply

    • Complete the SAT or ACT  (we recommend you take the test as soon as you have completed algebra and that you take time to prepare for it.  A good place to prepare for the test is https://www.march2success.com/ )
    • Create an application at the Go Army web site.
    • Let your guidance counselor know that you are applying for and Army ROTC Scholarship
    • Take the physical fitness test using the form located on the application web site - the test consists of three events, one minute of push ups, one minute of crunches and a one mile run.  A coach or Junior ROTC instructor at your high school can administer the test.  You can also get the test instructions here:  Physical Standards
    • After you have completed your online application you will be told to schedule an interview.  You can choose the closest school or the school you most want to attend.  Do not try to schedule the interview before Cadet Command tells you to do so, the individual ROTC programs will not be able to see your application and will not be able to conduct the interview
