Miss Courtney Lyles

I am looking forward to starting my third year of teaching here at McCormick High School! - GO BIG RED! 

I am a proud "army brat," so I have had the privilege of living in the majority of the eastern and southern United States. I graduated from high school in Fayetteville, NC and moved to Atlanta, GA to begin my undergraduate career at Spelman College. In 2015, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Furthering your education and becoming my best possible self is not just something I tell my students but also practice in my life. I am currently working on my Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction through Grand Canyon University, and I will graduate this upcoming November. 

My alma mater, Spelman College, instills in her students to make a "Choice to Change the World." For me, teaching is the most effective and enjoyable way to change the world. My goal is to guide the students of McCormick High School to become empowered, literate, engaged, creative, liberated human beings who want to join in this effort to change the world. 

I am also the advisor for Student Government Association, so I look forward to the 2020-2021 school year!
